What is milk tea? It is a drink combining tea with milk (i.e., dairy product: milk, creamer and milk powder). The most popular milk tea in the world is black tea with milk, which is a drink with long historical culture across boundaries and races. The hand-shaken drink culture originated from Taiwan provides a wider range of tea elements for milk tea since the tea can be green tea, pouchong tea or oolong and each kind of tea has its own supporters.



The milk tea series is the basis of hand-shaken drinks, especially for black tea with milk. The coffee chain brand Louisa Coffee has listed milk tea in the menu, not to mention breakfast shops which can be seen everywhere. Milk tea is definitely one of the choices on their menu. According to the analysis of hand-shaken drink preference made by CMISI survey in 2019, the top three are “Bubble tea,” “Black tea latte” and “Assam black tea,” in which we can sense the obvious favor for milk tea by Taiwanese consumers.
